Atletico Madrid are set for another uncertain summer, with wildly conflicting reports on their squad planning. Some say that they are set for a revolution, while other outlets claim they will have to sell before signing. One cheaper alternative could be Paulo Dybala.

The Roma playmaker reportedly has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Serie A next summer, and fresh reports from Italy, as per Diario AS. Dybala, 30, has 16 goals and 10 assists this season in 35 games, and is into the last year of his deal with Roma. That clause is wiped if he renews his deal, but with Daniele de Rossi not using him as much, it seems there is a good chance he moves on.

Dybala would do little to reduce the average age of a maturing Atletico squad, but no doubt would be a bargain in terms of price and quality. On the other hand, the left-footed Argentine tends to dominate the system he is in, requiring managers to cater to his game – a situation that has not worked well with Antoine Griezmann in the past. Dybala was previously linked with Barcelona, but those links have cooled.
